    History

Alter Asset Management is an Affiliate of Alter (www.altergroup.com), one of the largest privately held real estate development firms in the country.

Back in 1971, we were called Pan American Management and became Alter Asset Management in 1989. Alter Asset Management was originally created to be stewards of Alter’s national portfolio of office, medical office, industrial, and retail buildings, as well as well as its land holdings. As our portfolio changed ownership over the years, we were asked by the buyers of our property and our tenants to continue leasing and managing their assets. This third-party business today constitutes the majority of our work, representing major institutional owners, private equity firms and entrepreneurial real estate firms and high net-worth individuals and partnership groups. Our specialty is commercial office, retail, industrial and healthcare facilities as far east as metro Washington, DC, and as far west as Arizona, and 23 markets in between.
